  This project contained some heavy stuff, where the philosophical merges with mystical occultism. Not for the faint-hearted, the semi-musical methods adopted can be as challenging to the listener as they are bemusing. “The Light Within” is where music takes a backseat to the occult. It’s about Bowie’s descent into madness in 75 where the excessive use of cocaine influenced his mental state. he thought witches were stalking him and even had a swimming pool exorcised. Maybe that’s why he kept his own piss in the fridge?
