This site aims to promote all kinds of creativity. There may be an emphasis on experimental or alternative forms and on the creators or authors of such work. The site caters for audio and visual art, for genius and the completely wacky! The projects focus on audio and recordings which have been languishing unheard for far too long. It is hoped that, with sufficient interest, they can be mastered. If not, they will be mastered anyway! [Note: mastering has commenced] Look out for news of limited edition runs on vinyl or CD.
Elsewhere on the site are blogs, some on travel, especially the Greek Islands, others on concerts & reviews, books and even Bronze Age archaeology.
If you’re interested in the works of Bowie and Bolan, then you’re in luck. There’s a whole section dedicated to them and to dismantling most of the bullshit talked about them. Get stuck in and explore! As the great man Wilson said, “There’s something for everyone.”
Projects
All the projects ever produced from 1982 to the current day are included here. Each project represents a particular period of time rather than any one specific musical artist. In fact a number of artists could be collaborating under the umbrella of a project. Dive in & explore!
Creatives
Here you will find all the musicians associated with Waxworks & their work. This section also features the outstanding creations of other painters, film-makers & other fantastic local musicians. The painting of Debbie Harry (above) is one such example - you can buy originals and prints directly from the artist. There are links to his gallery-store and his Facebook page under Artists.
Blogs
As well as weird and wacky music, this site has a wealth of other fascinating material to discover. There are various blogs on here, too.
One has all my personal experiences of adventures in Greece and visits to the Greek Islands. It’s called ‘Greek Island Fun.’ If you love Greece, you’ll probably find something of interest here. Click on the photographs of the locations to explore.
There’s a huge section dedicated to two of the UK’s biggest musical icons of the 70s, Bolan & Bowie. Click on either of the two paintings (both done by that afore-mentioned artist). ‘A Creamed Cage in August’ is inherently controversial by its non-reliance on “de facto” hegemonic journalism. It’s not a fan-driven blog, though fans will probably enjoy and disagree in equal measure. Truck Off!
’Flogging a Dead Horse’ contains recollections of all the concerts I attended over the years. There are also book reviews of musicians, chunks of waxworks lyrics, film reviews and all kinds of cultural detritus. There’s even a section on Bronze Age writing in the Aegean ( focussing on Linear A & B). Quite a mish-mash! Enjoy!
