Snow White Likes Curry, Matchstick Canons, Veto Veto et al…
Some of the oddest outfits you’ll ever meet. From the dying embers of the New Wave comes Snow White Likes Curry. They didn’t hang around for long, preferring to go out in a blaze of punkish glory. What a line-up! They created The Chrysalids.
Snowy Curry - bass, vocals
Bert Lancaster - drums
Bobby Korpse - guitars, programming
Co Cheese - vox
Check out some of the madness from this period in the 90s. There’s the weird sci-fi of Leper Seed by the Matchstick Canons, alongside the strange Etruscan-flavoured Arval Brothers by Voice And The Romans. Captain Birdseye meets the Human League in Barbarossa by the Royal Marines, while Punk Of Art by Veto Veto provides a tantalising glimpse of what-might-have-been.
There were also demos made by two others:
Down To Zero (Zerozone) - No-one To Blame
This one appeared to foresee 9/11
Robbie’s Boots - Special Offer
This one featured a sci-fi football match where players wore razors instead of studs. Carnage. Didn’t make the cut!
